FACT - Did you know? Ivete Sangalo, also known as the Queen of Axé, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and actress known for her powerful vocals and energetic performances.

For many years Ivete Sangalo has been the Queen of Axé, a popular Brazilian music style, which originated during the carnival in Bahia. Ivete Sangalo, who comes from the Northeast, achieved her first major success as the lead vocalist of the popular Brazilian band Banda Eva in the 1990s. ...With Banda Eva, originally a carnival group, she sold more than four million records, with hits such as "Vem, Meu Amor", "Beleza Rara" and "Arerê". She later pursued a successful solo career, becoming one of Brazil's most celebrated and commercially successful artists. Her music blends various genres, including axé, pop, reggae, and samba. Ivete Sangalo is known for her catchy tunes, lively performances, and the incorporation of regional Brazilian rhythms into her songs. One of her biggest successes was her CD in the 2004 MTV Ao Vivo series. But since then many other projects on television crossed her path as well. She has a strong association with Carnival celebrations. She has been a prominent figure during the Carnival festivities, performing in Salvador, Bahia, and other Carnival events across Brazil. Ivete Sangalo has often performed at Carnatal, a summer carnival in Natal, and it was there that I got to know her and her lively music for the first time. And I became a big fan of her music since then. Throughout her career, Ivete Sangalo has released numerous albums, and many of her songs have become hits in Brazil. Some of her popular tracks include "Festa," "Sorte Grande," and "Berimbau Metalizado."

In addition to her music career, Ivete has ventured into acting. She appeared in Brazilian soap operas and films, showcasing her talent beyond the music industry. Ivete Abroad and Rock in Rio

Ivete Sangalo has become an internationally renowned artist with a big fan base abroad. On June 30, 2006 I was finally able to see Ivete Sangalo perform live in my home country Belgium during the Couleur Café festival in Brussels. Her energy was and is still amazing and her fans cannot stop dancing once Ivete sets foot on stage. In 2023 Ivete Sangalo was present in Rock in Rio in Lisbon and without any doubt a large part of the public, amongst which many Brazilians, was attending this festival in Parque da Bela Vista to dance and jump with her. She likes peforming in Portugal as it feels like coming home. From start to finish the crowd was singing and dancing along and Ivete Sangalo closed her show with the tremendous success song "Arerê". Ivete Sangalo has become an institution and a brand, not only in Bazil but on world stages. Her show on this second day of Rock in Rio Lisboa 2023 was further proof that not even the passage of time will be able to stop her. There's no Rock in Rio without Ivete Sangalo, and 2024 is no exception! The queen of Brazilian music, who has been a part of every edition of the festival in Portugal, has been confirmed to be back on the World Stage on the 22nd of June. The new Cidade do Rock will take place in Parque Tejo Lisboa, a new venue, and Rock in Rio Lisboa promises a renewed experience, but the presence of Ivete Sangalo remains a certainty for all fans and it will be again an unforgettable party.

2024 will be the Year of Celebration: 30 Years of Career

On September 21, 2023 Ivete Sangalo did announce her new brand, "Ivete 3.0", celebrating her 30th career anniversary. On December 15, 2023 Ivete Sangalo released her new EP "Reivete−se" including 3 tracks, out of which one of them is "Macetando", a collaboration with this other famous Brazilian artist Ludmilla. Ivete Sangalo did start her celebration with a kick off show at Maracanã. The show on December 20, 2023 did warm up the public for her Brazilian stadium tour initially planned for 2024 but which was later cancelled due to production issues. This mega stadium tour was planned to be part of Ivete 3.0 and would consist of 30 shows covering all regions in the country. The tour would also become a documentary. Her first show at the Maracanã was broadcasted nationally live on Rede Globo as an end−of−year special after the 9pm soap opera. Part of the proceeds from the show were donated to the Ivete Sangalo Institute, as well as to solidarity actions carried out throughout the project.

Breaking News & Update: Ivete Sangalo cancels "A Festa" tour for the celebration of her 30th anniversary (15/05/2024)

Ivete Sangalo announced painfully the cancellation of the "A Festa" tour on Wednesday morning May 15, 2024, stating that "the producer responsible for holding the shows would not be able to guarantee the necessary conditions for the artist's performances to take place in the way they were conceived with excellence and safety promised and agreed". The commemorative tour "A festa" would celebrate her 30−year career and she expessed her gratitude to her fans who accompanied her on her journey for the past 30 years. Ivete concluded, although without giving details, that the 30th anniversary celebration will take place but now she has to take a step back for conscience and responsibility. On that same day Ludmilla also communicated that she had to cancel her upcoming "In House" tour due to logistical issues.

Ivete Sangalo performs at Baia das Gatas Festival 2024 in Cape Verde

25/8/2024: On August 15, 2024 Ivete Sangalo performed for the first time in Cape Verde at the opening of the 40th edition of the Baía das Gatas Festival in São Vicente. One of the highlights of the show was her tribute to Cesária Évora, with the interpretation of Sodade.

Ivete Sangalo is more than a Singer

As far as her television career is concerned, Ivete Sangalo has been on air with Pipoca and was the leading lady of the first 3 seasons of the The Masked Singer Brasil on Globo TV. Ivete Sangalo presented 'The Masked Singer Brasil' since 2021 and also revealed in May 2024 that she no longer wants to present a new season of the program as she wants to dedicate more quality time to her family.

Ivete Sangalo reinvents herself all the time and it is evident that she can still make a difference in the Brazilian music and social scene.

The past 30 years Ivete Sangalo has grown a lot. From the Bahian Queen of Axé, to the Rock in Rio Diva to a television presenter and Tele Novela actress. Ivete Sangalo has now become a Brand and her 30 years celebration promised to be big, though she painfully had to cancel her "A Festa" tour in 2024. But she will be back!
